Izak Terms of Service
The terms for everyone on Izak.
Version 1.0 · 9 October 2026
These terms cover you as a person: your account, your username, what you post, and how you use the Izak app and website. Everyone on Izak agrees to them. A business that joins Creators and Content or Guides also agrees to the Creator Agreement or the Guide Agreement, which sit on top of these terms.
1Who we are
Izak is a fishing companion: an app for anglers and a website where fishing businesses work. It is run by the Izak team, reachable at jon.mitchell@fishwithizak.com. The company details behind Izak will be added to this page before the beta ends.
2Your account
You must be 13 or over to have an Izak account. You sign in as yourself, with your own email, and you keep your sign-in details to yourself. A business on Izak is its own account with its own members; people never share a login.
Choose a username that is yours. Names of creators in Izak’s catalogue, of brands and of public figures are reserved for their owners, lookalikes are blocked, and nobody may use “official”, “verified” or “Izak” in any spelling in a username. An account that impersonates someone is removed.
In plain English. One person, one login. Don’t pretend to be someone else.
3What you post
What you put on Izak, such as your catches, photos, notes and posts, stays yours. You give Izak permission to show it to the people you chose to show it to, and to use it to run the service for you, for example to log your fishing, match you to guides and content, and answer your questions through Ask Izak.
Don’t post what isn’t yours to post, and don’t post anything unlawful, abusive, hateful or dangerous. Izak may take down posts and close accounts that break these terms.
4Guides, creators and other businesses on Izak
Guided days, charters and other services you find on Izak are provided by the business that lists them, not by Izak. A request to a guide is a request, not a booking: nothing is booked until the guide accepts. During the beta no money moves through Izak; you pay the guide directly, on the terms the guide shows on their listing, including their cancellation and weather rules.
Links in a creator’s shop go to shops the creator chose. The creator may earn a commission. Izak takes nothing on these links during the beta.
In plain English. Izak introduces you to guides and creators. The day on the water is between you and the guide.
5What you share with a guide
When you request a day, you choose what a guide sees before accepting: your level, the species from your logbook and your home town are shared only if you say so. Your rating and guided days on Izak are always shared, so guides can decide fairly. Your name and photo reach the guide only when the guide accepts. Guides never see what other guides have written about you.
6Your data
How Izak collects and uses your data is set out in the Privacy Policy. You can ask for everything Izak holds about you, and you can delete your account; a business you own must be handed over or closed first.
7Using Izak fairly
Don’t scrape Izak, don’t try to get around its limits, don’t use it to send unwanted messages, and don’t use someone else’s content through Izak in a way they haven’t allowed.
8The service
Izak is in beta. It changes often, parts of it are marked “Later”, and it may be unavailable at times. Izak gives fishing information in good faith but cannot promise that any answer, condition, map or recommendation is right; the water is your call, and you fish safely and within the law.
To the extent the law allows, Izak is not liable for loss that comes from using the service, from a business listed on it, or from a day on the water.
9Leaving, and changes to these terms
You can leave Izak at any time by deleting your account. Izak may close an account that breaks these terms. When these terms change, the version and date at the top change, and you will be told in the app or by email before anything material takes effect.
