Creator Agreement.
The agreement for creators and publishers on Izak.
This is a service and revenue-share agreement between your business and Izak. The licences of your content are in Part B of the Terms of Service, not here. It is non-exclusive, and you can leave at any time with your data. Each paid stream is a schedule you switch on separately. The Izak Terms of Service, including Part B, apply to your business as well as to you as a person. By accepting this agreement your business accepts them and grants the content licences in Part B, including the training licence. If this agreement and the Terms of Service conflict, this agreement governs money and Part B governs content. The creator side of Izak is in beta. Features will change, and we will tell you before any change affects what you earn.
1. Izak adds to what you earn. It never takes from it.
Your YouTube ads, sponsors, Patreon, memberships and existing deals stay 100% yours. Izak takes nothing from income you earn anywhere else, now or later.
2. We only do well when you do.
Izak takes a share only when money moves through Izak, and the rates published here are the most anyone pays. Your own affiliate and shop links cost you nothing.
3. Your rates, in writing.
| Stream | Your share |
|---|---|
| Your own affiliate and shop links | You keep 100% |
| Your own products through Izak, such as lure packs and merch you ship yourself (Later) | You keep 85%, or 90% once you meet the original-files condition in clause 5A |
| Subscriptions and memberships through Izak (Later) | You keep 90% |
| Courses and pay-per-content (Later) | You keep 85% |
| Tackle you recommend, from brands Izak works with directly (Later) | You earn up to 5% of the price |
| Guided days through Izak (Later) | Covered by the Guide Agreement, which sets the rate |
| YouTube, sponsors and everything elsewhere | 100%, untouched |
From each sale Izak deducts only the following. Card processing at our payment provider’s rate, currently 1.5% plus 20p for a standard UK card and 2.9% plus 30¢ for a US card, with extra charges for international cards and currency conversion. Izak’s commission at the rate in the table, taken after card processing. Any refund you give, and any chargeback the bank upholds, with its fee. For subscriptions and courses bought in the iOS or Android app, the app store’s fee, which comes off before Izak’s commission.
For example, on a £40 lure pack bought with a UK card, card processing of £0.80 comes off first, leaving £39.20. At the 10% rate Izak takes £3.92 and you are paid £35.28 on the Friday after. At the 15% rate you are paid £33.32. On a $100 order with a US card, $3.20 comes off first, and you are paid $87.12 at 10% or $82.28 at 15%.
Streams marked Later start only when you switch them on. Izak will give you at least 30 days’ notice before any rate goes up, and you can leave before the change takes effect.
Every rate is on this page. If it is not here, we do not charge it.
4. No exclusivity. Leave any time and take your data.
Post anywhere you like. You can hide any item, pause, or close your business at any time. When you leave, you can export your plays, citations, follower numbers, tags, products and requests, and anglers who chose to share their details with you come too. Closing hides your content from the app and settles anything owed.
5. Your content, on your terms.
Izak reads the channels, feeds and sites you connect, and never posts as you. Videos play in YouTube’s own player; podcasts play from your feed with your host’s ads intact; articles open with a link back to you. Izak hosts only what you choose to give it. If you upload an original file, clause 5A says what Izak does with it.
You confirm you own, or have the right to connect, what you connect, and that your business is who it says it is. Your page can go live as soon as this agreement is accepted. Izak then confirms that the channel is yours, automatically where it can, or by contacting you through the channel’s public contact details. Until it is confirmed, your page shows as unverified, and selling, payouts, sponsor placements and training on anything you give Izak all stay switched off. Izak may remove a page, or hand it to the channel’s real owner, if it turns out not to be yours.
5A. Original files and the lower rate.
When you upload the original files for 20 of your older videos and for the next 10 videos you publish after joining, your own-product rate drops from 15% to 10%. Izak transcribes each file and tags the tackle you mention, so it can put you in front of the right anglers. Your videos still play through YouTube, so your ad revenue is untouched. Izak keeps a small low-quality copy so it can keep understanding what the video covers, and deletes the original.
The lower rate does not depend on the training licence. You keep it whether the training licence is on or off. Once you have met this condition, your rate stays at 10% whether or not you keep uploading originals. If Izak ever changes that, it will give you the notice in clause 3.
6. We learn from your work to champion it.
Izak’s own AI reads your content to work out what each piece covers, so Izak can recommend it to the right anglers and credit you when Ask Izak uses it. For videos that stay on YouTube, Izak reads only the title, description and other details YouTube provides. Izak’s own models also learn from content you give Izak directly, under the training licence in Part B of the Terms of Service. It is on by default, and you can switch it off for your whole account at any time with “Let Izak learn from my uploads”. Switching it off does not stop Ask Izak citing and linking to your content. No outside AI company trains on your content through Izak.
7. Promotion is welcome, never expected.
You owe Izak no posts, mentions or links, unless you have chosen a partner deal that includes them in writing. If Izak is good for you, we hope you will say so.
8. Every kind of fishing.
Fly, carp, bass, coarse, sea, ice and everything in between belong on Izak from day one, and Izak will not favour one kind over another in how it recommends.
9. You can’t pay to rank.
Where you appear in discovery, and whether Ask Izak cites you, is earned and never bought. Any paid promotion Izak ever offers will be clearly labelled and kept separate from what Izak recommends.
10. Your business account
The business is its own account, with its own name, a handle that is verified once Izak confirms the channel is yours, business email, legal entity, payouts and tax details. People sign in as themselves and are given a role: Owner, Admin, Editor, Finance or Guide. This agreement is accepted once for the business by an Owner who is 18 or over and confirms they are authorised. Staff invited later accept only the Terms of Service, except that anyone given the Guide role also accepts the Guide Agreement before offering trips. Ownership can be transferred, and this agreement moves with it. Izak records who accepted, which version, when, and for which business.
11. Payouts and tax
When paid streams switch on, payouts go to the business through Stripe, which handles identity and bank details. Izak collects tax residence now, and a tax ID when you give one. The tax ID is stored encrypted with a key kept away from the database. Where the law requires a tax ID, payouts are held until you give it, and Izak may have to withhold tax if you do not. Izak reports what it pays you to HMRC or the IRS as the law requires.
12. Ending, and changes
Either side may end this agreement at any time; your content leaves the app and anything owed is settled. Izak may suspend a business that breaks this agreement or the Terms of Service. When this agreement changes, the version and date at the top change, and the business is told before anything material takes effect; a rate is never raised without the notice in clause 3.
