Community Rules.
In short
- Be decent to other anglers. No abuse, no harassment, no hate, no exposing people.
- Respect the water and the law. No poaching, no fishing out of season or without a licence, no trespass, and do not burn other people's spots.
- Post what is real and what is yours. No faked catches, no stolen photos, no undisclosed sponsorship.
- These rules apply to everything on Izak. Posts, catches, photos, comments, messages, reviews, profiles and what you ask Izak.
- Break them and we may remove content, restrict your account, or close it. We will tell you why, and you can appeal.
Izak is for anglers. These rules exist so it stays somewhere worth being. They apply to everyone, including creators, guides and businesses, who also have their own terms.
1. Nothing illegal
You must not post, send or do anything on Izak that is illegal where you are or where the person affected is. That includes, and is not limited to:
- threats, intimidation, stalking or harassment;
- content that incites or glorifies violence or terrorism;
- hateful content targeting people because of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, gender identity or similar;
- any sexual content involving anyone under 18, and any attempt to contact a child for a sexual purpose;
- intimate images of anyone shared without their consent;
- fraud, scams, phishing and selling anything that is illegal to sell, including protected fish or wildlife;
- content that encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders;
- buying, selling or advertising illegal drugs or weapons;
- anything that breaks copyright or someone's privacy rights, or that reveals a person's private information.
Where the law requires, we report illegal content to the authorities.
2. Respect other anglers
- No bullying, abuse, harassment or hate. Disagreeing about tackle, tactics or ethics is fine. Attacking the person is not.
- No sexual content, and no unwanted sexual contact of any kind.
- No sharing anyone's private details, including their name, address, workplace, photos of them or where they fish, without their permission.
- No impersonating another person, a guide, a business or Izak.
- Under-18s. Accounts for people aged 13 to 17 are private by default. If you are an adult, do not message a person under 18 who has not followed you first, and do not ask anyone under 18 for photos, personal details or to meet. If you think someone under 13 has an account, report it.
3. Respect the water and the law
- Fish legally. Do not post content showing, encouraging or helping with poaching, fishing out of season, fishing without the licence or permit the water requires, exceeding limits, taking protected species, or using banned methods.
- No trespass. Do not post content that shows or encourages fishing a water without the right to be there, and do not share access routes to private land.
- Do not burn spots. Do not reveal another angler's spot, a private water or syndicate water, or a sensitive location such as a spawning area or a protected species' habitat, without permission. Your own spots are yours to share, at the precision you choose. Use the location settings to control what others see.
- Fish welfare. Do not post content showing fish mishandled, kept out of water for effect, or treated cruelly, or protected species handled in a way the law does not allow. Catching, keeping and eating fish where that is legal is not against these rules.
- Wildlife and other people. Do not post content showing harm to wildlife, livestock or other water users, or that encourages it.
4. Post what is real and what is yours
- Real catches. Do not post a catch you did not make, a fish that is not what you say it is, a size or weight you know is wrong, or a photo of someone else's fish as your own. Do not alter a photo to misrepresent a catch.
- Your content. Post only what you own or have permission to use. That includes other people's photos, videos, music and writing. Anyone recognisable in a photo or video must have agreed to appear. Children must appear only with a parent or guardian's agreement.
- Nothing gratuitous. Fishing involves blood, and that is fine. Content made to shock, or that shows injury or death for effect, is not.
- Sponsorship. If you are paid, gifted or sponsored for content, say so clearly in the post, as advertising law requires.
- Safety and the law. Do not present something as a rule, a season, a limit or safe practice if you do not know it is true. Ask Izak and other anglers' posts are information, not advice.
5. Reviews
Reviews of guides follow the Review Policy, which says who can review, what we remove and what we never do. Only someone who completed a booked trip through Izak can review it.
6. No spam, scraping or selling outside the rules
- No spam, bulk messaging, repetitive posting or unsolicited promotion.
- No bots, scraping, crawling, data-mining or automated access, and no using Izak to build a competing dataset or model.
- No selling, renting or sharing your account, and no more than one account per person unless we have agreed otherwise.
- No selling, advertising or taking bookings on Izak except as a creator, guide or business under the terms that apply to you.
- No attempts to get round a block, a suspension or any access control.
7. Ask Izak and AI
- Do not try to make Ask Izak produce content that breaks these rules, or try to extract its instructions or the data behind it.
- Do not present Ask Izak's answers as advice from a named person, a guide or Izak staff.
- Do not post AI-generated catches, fish or scenes as real.
8. Creators, guides and businesses
If you bring content, run trips or sell through Izak, these rules apply to you and so do the Creator Terms, the Guide Agreement or the Business Terms. Where those set a higher standard, the higher standard applies.
9. What happens when a rule is broken
Most problems are fixed with a warning. Serious ones are not. Depending on what happened, we may:
- remove the content;
- warn you;
- restrict a feature, such as posting, messaging or reviewing, for a period;
- suspend your account for a period; or
- close your account.
For anything in section 1, for any threat to a person's safety, for any contact with a child in breach of section 2, and for repeated breaches after a warning, we may close an account without warning.
We tell you what we did and which rule it was under, unless the law prevents it or telling you would put someone at risk. We use automated tools to find some kinds of content, and a person checks before an account is closed.
A closed account stays closed. We keep a record so that the person cannot return under a new account.
10. Reporting
Report any post, catch, comment, message, review, profile or person from the Report option on it, or write to report@fishwithizak.com with a link and which rule you think applies. A person reads every report. We acknowledge reports of illegal content and tell you what we decided. Reporting is confidential, and we do not tell the person who reported them, except where the law requires.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services first.
11. Appeals
If we remove your content or restrict, suspend or close your account and you think we got it wrong, write to appeals@fishwithizak.com within 30 days. A different person from the one who made the decision reviews it against these rules. We reply within 14 days. If the decision is reversed, we restore what was removed.
12. Changes
We will change these rules as Izak and the law change. The version and date at the top tell you what you are reading. Material changes are announced in the app.
